Three robbers were arrested including one bullet in a robbery on the highway at Kashiani in Gopalganj
Police on Thursday blocked a bus-truck on the road of Kashiani in Gopalganj, while one person was shot and one of the members of the inter-district robbery group has exploded during the robbery.
They were arrested from Bhatiapara area around 3 pm on Monday. The arrested robbers were identified as Tota Mandal alias Chandan, 46, son of Khabirulah Mandal of Charbikara village under Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district, Hannan Mondal, 38, son of Kashem Mandal of Sriramkanta village and Abir Hasan Manik, 35, son of Rajab Ali Sardar of water tanker Para of Jhenaidah district.
Kashiani Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman said that at around 3:00 am on Monday, a robber of 10/12 people was robbing robbers by blocking buses and trucks in the Rumi Fish Feed Mill area near Dhaka's Dhusur Bridge on Dhaka-Khulna Highway. When a team of police rushed to the spot, the robbers tried to flee to the Bhatiapara-Tungipara railway line, to build the newly constructed Bhatiipara-Tungipara railway line. When the police and local people followed them, the robbers started throwing stones at police. A police constable named Azizul Sheikh (25) was injured in the attack by robbers.
At that time, the police also got injured in the gunfight with the robbers, who were injured in the gunfight. Later, the locals gave massacre to the two other people including the Tota Mondol. The rest of the robbers were able to escape. At the time, two rams, two daggers and a tree cut saw were recovered from the scene.
Three of the injured were taken to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital and the injured policeman was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
