Recommendation to 65 years of 35 retirements for government service entry

The Parliamentary Standing Committee recommends the age of entry into government service is 35 years and the age of retirement is 65 years. At the same time, the Ministry has been asked to take immediate steps to implement this recommendation.

These recommendations were made at the Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting of the Ministry of Public Administration yesterday. The meeting chaired the meeting of the committee president HN Ashikur Rahman.

Committee member ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, RAW Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury, Advocate Mustafa Lutfullah, Khorshed Ara Haque and Md. Abdullah attended the meeting. The concerned officials were present in the meeting.

After the meeting, Advocate Mustafa Lutfullah, a member of the committee, said the proposal to increase the age limit for government service was under consideration for a long time.

 After the detailed discussion, the age of entry to the government service is 35 years and the age of retirement is recommended to 65 years. According to the committee sources, a number of arguments have been taken into consideration to increase the age limit of entry into government service and retirement.

 The committee members said that the developed countries have set the age limit for their people to transform human resources. The age of entry into government jobs in West Bengal is 40 years, 45 years in Sri Lanka, 35 years in Indonesia, 35 years in Italy, 40 years in France. The age of retirement in Bangladesh has been increased from 57 to 59.

 And two years more for the freedom fighters. But the entry age limit was not increased. In the meeting, the members of the committee recommended the appointment of teachers through the Managing Committee locally by canceling the procedure, due to lack of scope and irregularities in appointing teachers.

 At the same time, it is recommended to cancel oral examination in the appointment of registered teachers. In addition to this, the recommendation is taken in the meeting of educational institutions, in respect of MPO, the size of the upazila, number of unions and the number of educational institutions and the realization of the implementation of the school-college.
